Another Soccer Star

Last year Emma played soccer and we could see how much she had learned about the game. This year she just seems to have really blossomed. On Sunday we watched her play and it was such fun to see all the action.

Here you can see her on the left going after that ball with such a determined look on her face. Watch out little girl in blue.

I love this action shot with the grass flying from their cleats. Crash!!

She looks like she is thinking pretty seriously about the next move here. She did great and we look forward to next weekends game.

I love soccer.

New Assistant Coach

Lucy has decided she wants to play soccer this fall. In the four year old age group they have four practice/game sessions falling on Tuesdays.

The soccer star. She told me she was brave. Of course this was after the game while driving home. Bravery is easier when you are eating your snack and in a warm car with no other soccer stars around.

Last nights game was spent helping her coach. This is what we saw.

Yes coach. You tell them.

Might be just a bit boring here. "Let's move!"

Oops!

Oops again. I don't know why she was doing this but I have about ten pictures of the hand over the mouth. What a crack up.

So maybe I can walk on these cool orange cones to kill the coaching time.

Yay! Finally done...daddeeeey!

Little Man Is Four Today

It is so hard to believe that Byron is four today. Time has flown and this much awaited birthday finally arrived.

He has been talking about his birthday for months now and informed me a week or so ago that he was going to turn five, not four. He wanted five candles, not four. Five presents, not four. I wonder what we will do when he finally turns five.

His mommy baked cupcakes with him today and he got to have some fun gifts like a new fishing pole. We will be joining him for a jet boat ride on the Rogue River this Friday for his birthday and mine. Should be a fun outing.

I just love this little boy. Is he not the most adorable little guy? He is a busy little ball of wind one minute and a snuggly little love the next.

Oh and a silly little tease. Happy birthday my little man. I love you.

Fairy's Live Here

Emma and Lucy were using their imagination while I was busy in the house and here is what they came up with.

I remember as a child I would imagine and dream about fairies and little villages. Emma and Lucy gathered together things they would need to make a little fairy house. Now all we need to do is wait for the fairy to come move in.

Here is the little house up close and personal. Wouldn't you like to live here? I would.

Clever Emma cracked an almond and used the shell for the little bed. She will be cushioned by a moss mattress and a leaf pillow. There was also a floor of moss and a little tree made from a weed. How cute is this?

I will be moving my one big toe in soon.

Celebrating Four

Today Lucy turned four. Wow! It hardly seems possible that she is growing up so fast.

That cute little dimply smile and teeth that turn in like her mommy's did.

She is small but has grown so much this last few months. I have seen some of her clothes finally become a little short on her. But alas still baggy around that skinny little waist.

Those adorable big brown eyes can melt you in an instant. Then again the next instant can frown you down and put you in your place.

Little girl who loves reading, snuggling, spending time with Grandad outside, cooking with Gram and Spiderman. Kyla is looking down on her smiling.

Happy birthday little girl. I love you!

A Star is Born

I went to Emma's school talent show this week. I am always amazed at these kids. At that age I know I would not have been able to perform before my entire school.

Emma and her friend waiting patiently. They were 19th in line out of 21 performances so had a bit to wait and be nervous.

She really doesn't look nervous at all to me but I'm sure there were butterflies in her stomach. Waiting, waiting, waiting.

They both worked hard in this little dance routine, choreographing it themselves. Here they are performing.
